About Us

In The Beginning…

Aardvark Pest Control Services, Inc., started by brothers-in-law, Dave Stouber and Charles “Skip” Kauffman, began as a two-man operation in the spring of 1995. Both were former employees of a one of the largest Eastern regional pest control companies.

In the beginning...This collective pest control experience, combined with business degrees from Penn State enabled them to attain a life-longdream of business ownership. In the beginning, Aardvark Pest Control Services had two technicians, two sales reps and two managers. Their names were Dave and Skip. The adventure had already begun!

Why Pest Control?

As co-owner Dave Stouber puts it, “we saw a mature industry that was ready for a fresh new approach”. Armed with the knowledge and courage that pesticide use could be drastically minimized if proper attention was given to the other relevant factors such as inspection, exclusion and sanitation, two of our first accounts gave us the unique opportunity to test our hypothesis.

The future and beyond! Two large school districts in Delaware County agreed to let us use an inspection and monitoring first approach to pest control. When ants swarmed through a crack in the floor, we didn’t spray; we vacuumed and sealed the crack. Years later, this approach to pest control called Integrated Pest Management (IPM) was mandated by the Pennsylvania Legislature for all pest control companies servicing Pennsylvania schools. We thought to ourselves at the time, “This needed to be state mandated?”

This low to no pesticide approach made us very popular with commercial property management companies, healthcare facilities, manufacturing plants, colleges and universities. It also enables us to handle sensitive situations such as the Brandywine Zoo and the prized art collection of the Wyeth Family at the Brandywine River Museum.
